Question: So the actions of a few, reflect on the many? Do they have a detrimental affect on the many?
There have been so many single person events of the last few years that have occurred in the lives of "Christians" that reflect on the masses of people that are believer's which may be the reason we have such a hard time winning the lost to the Lord. For example, there was the abortion doctor that was gunned down in church (Lutheran). First let me say that I do not condone violence of any sort, however, this man did partial birth abortions, yet his church apparently supported him in this, an act that I would call murder. If they did not support him, why was he still an active member. That kind of approval by a so called Christian church has a detrimental affect upon all Evangelical Christians as they try to spread the Gospel, regardless of their denomination, etc. Another example is the action of our former President, Bill Clinton, who by the way, claimed to be a Southern Baptist, as he committed pornographic actions in the Oval Office of the White House and then lied to the public about those actions. Not only did this reflect negatively on Southern Baptists, but it also did so on on other denominations. Then there is the preacher in Colorado, who I believe was engaged in homosexual behavior while preaching in a large church, seems like his name was Ted Haggard. He has been just one of several preachers caught in the web of unchristian behavior while claiming to be the opposite. What I am trying to say is that not only will your sins find you out, but they reflect on the entire Christian community, regardless of denomination affiliation. So remember, not only are you judged by your actions, but the whole world is watching and is influenced by them.
